Exhibition
Servane Mary holds a solo show at Palazzo Biandrà, Mediolanum bank’s head office. The exhibition, titled Nine Paintings and in collaboration with FORM. The Creative Group, features a new series of site-specific canvases conceived by the artist, as a homage to the city of Milan: Oxidation. What the artist calls oxidation paintings, these works are created by pouring a dye oxide fluid through the holes in the pegboard, which brings out various shades of green that mimic the result of brass exposed to the elements. The technicality of the grid is thus combined with the outcome of natural phenomena, creating a continuous exchange, a cross-reference between before and after and an optical illusion with the trompe-l’œil of the holes.
