Dadamaino

Dadamaino (b. 1930, Milan, Italy – d. 2004, Milan, Italy), diminutive of Edoarda Maino, is an artist who adheres to the Milanese neo-avant-garde. 1960 was the year in which her collaboration with Piero Manzoni became stronger and stronger, so much so that she exhibited at the collective exhibition Castellani Maino Manzoni Pisani Santini at the Circolo degli Artisti in Albisola Mare.

In 1962, she took part in a collective exhibition in Arnhem in Holland and came into contact with the Nul Group group. In the same year, several exhibitions of the Punto Group were held, of which the artist was the coordinator and curator. In 1963, she became part of the Nouvelle Tendance group; these were the years in which she produced the Spirali rotanti.

In the first half of the 1970s, she devoted herself to systematic studies for the Research of Colour in which she used the seven colours of the spectrum, searching for their average chromo value; she exhibited the Composables and the Fluorescents. In 1977, the Salone dell’Annunciata in Milan presented her solo exhibition Dadamaino. Dall’Inconscio razionale all’Alfabeto della mente.

She exhibited at the Venice Biennale (1980), (1990) and in 1993, the Casa del Mantegna in Mantua dedicated the anthological Dadamaino. Works 1958-1993.
