Tiril Hasselknippe (b. 1984, Arendal, Norway) lives and works between Copenhagen and Oslo, Norway. Her work is focused on the theme of possibility. Things could have been different: the form they assume is only one of their possible forms, and it is determined by the will of the artist. In the exhibited sculptures, the artist investigates inconsistency, disintegration, the possible shelter, and the impossible duration: the artist brings into question the creative act through a fleeting and poetic work, at the same time material and immaterial, classic and contemporary.
Hasselknippe’s work is included in several public collections such as the Kistefos Museum, Jevnaker, Norway; Institute of Water Science, Lund University, Malmö, Sweden; Nasjonalmuseet, Oslo, Norway.
