This is a big object painted with oil colours on the outside, the inside of this big box is a monochrome installation of volumes.On the wall behind, small paintings like other little objects, fly around. All this takes place in a majestic ancient room with fresco painted ceiling and golden mouldings. We still don't know how these things landed here.  Apalazzo is in Brescia and in Brescia many elements from different times meet, maybe that is why.

For her 2019 exhibition at Mutina in Modena, Italy, Du Pasquier created a series of towers constructed from hand-painted glazed bricks (https://www.mutina.it/it/exhibitions/natalie-du-pasquier-bric).

“The starting point is the brick, a fundamental architectural module since the dawn of human history, and a long-term recurring subject in her works, including her paintings,” explains exhibition curator Sarah Cosulich. “Du Pasquier delves into brick in its physical and conceptual essence, as an element linked to the earth and the tradition of ceramics."
